Volta Limburg Classic 2023 – Eijsden – Eijsden : 193,4 km
The Volta Limburg Classic is a one-day race held across the borders of the Netherlands and Belgium, taking in both the hilly landscape of the South Limburg and the Belgian Voer regions. It’s one of the biggest races in the Netherlands and has often served as a proving ground for the sport’s future stars. Formerly known as Hel van het Mergelland (the Hell of the Mergelland), the Volta Limburg Classic is usually run in late March or early April in the Limburg region of the Netherlands. The race has been classified as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 and, as a result, doesn’t tend to attract many big-name riders. Starting and finishing in Eijsden, the home village of 1979 Tour de France stage winner Jo Maas, the Volta Limburg Classic usually follows a route just shy of 200km in length.
