Tour de l’Avenir 2023 🇫🇷 – Stage 1 – Carnac – La Gacilly : 140 km
Tour de l’Avenir (English: Tour of the Future) is a French road bicycle racing stage race, which started in 1961 as a race similar to the Tour de France and over much of the same course but for amateurs and for semi-professionals known as independents. Since 2007 it is for riders aged 19 to 23, and is held part of the UCI Nations Cup. National teams take part in the race rather than trade teams.
Anders Foldager (Denmark) won the opening stage and took the first leader’s jersey at the Tour d l’Avenir. A group of six riders finished in a small-group sprint with Foldager taking the win ahead of Giacomo Villa (Italy) and Pierre Thierry (France).
