National Championships 2023 – France – ITT WE – Hazebrouck – Cassel : 31,3 km
The French National Road Race Championship is a cycling race where the French cyclists decide who will become the champion for the year to come. The event was established in 1899, a professional championship was established in 1907 and the women’s championship was established in 1951. The winners of each event are awarded with a symbolic cycling jersey which is blue, white and red, just like the national flag, these colours can be worn by the rider at other road racing events in the country to show their status as national champion. The champion’s stripes can be combined into a sponsored rider’s team kit design for this purpose.
Cédrine Kerbaol (Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling) won her first elite time trial title at French Road Championships on Thursday, holding off six-time champion Audrey Cordon-Ragot (Human Powered Health) by 19 seconds.
The 22-year-old, who finished runner-up to Cordon-Ragot the past two years, completed the 31.3km course from Hazebrouck to Cassel in 46:24.
Coralie Demay (St Michele-Mavic-Auber 93) earned the bronze medal, 32 seconds off the winning pace. Marie Le Net (FDJ-SUEZ) was 51 seconds back in fourth, and the only other rider to finish under a minute behind Kerbaol.
