National Championships 2023 โ Eritrea ๐ช๐ท โ Road Race ME – Asmara : 173,4 km
The Eritrean National Cycling Championships, an annual event on the national cycling calendar, commenced its activities on Thursday with time trial (ITT) competition. The Road Race will be held today 15th June, 2024. This yearโs edition features a highly competitive field. In addition to the promising domestic riders, over 20 professional cyclists who compete for various WorldTour, Continental, and Pro-Continental teams will be participating. Both the menโs and womenโs categories will be contested.
Natnael Tesfatsion, a member of the American Team Lidl Trek, emerged as the winner of the Eritrean Cycling Championship 2024. Natnael completed the 173.4 km race in 4 hours, 7 minutes, and 52 seconds, securing the Gold Medal.
Aklilu Arefaine, a member of the Belgian Team Wanty-ReUz-Technord, and Metkel Eyob, a member of the Malaysian Terengganu Cycling Team, won second and third place respectively.
Professional riders Merhawi Kudus, Biniam Girmay, and Henok Mulubrhan finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth place respectively.
