The City Cup of San Daniele is a men’s road cycling race that takes place annually in San Daniele del Friuli, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The event is reserved for the Elite/Under-23 Amateur category, and normally closes the Italian amateur season.

Fantastic solo by Valtellina Monica Trinca Colonel in the third edition of the “Coppa Città di San Daniele Rosa”, an open race staged on the difficult streets of San Daniele del Friuli, in the province of Udine. The twenty-five-year-old color bearer of the BePink – Bongioanni team, third classified in the final general classification of the recent “Tour Cycliste Feminin International de l’Ardeche UCI 2.1″, flew in perfect solitude towards the finish line about fifteen kilometers from the conclusion, taking advantage of the excellent work done by her teammates. The triumph of the flagship formation led by the technical expert Walter Zini was completed by the second place of Elisa Valtulini, who regulated the group of immediate pursuers of the teammate, who reached the finish line with a delay of 2’11”. The podium was completed by the Venetian regional champion Elisa De Vallier (Top Girls – Fassa Bortolo), fifth classified at the “Giro della Toscana Premondiale – Memorial Michela Fanini UCI 2.2”.

Excellent fourth place for the reigning Italian junior women’s champion Giada Silo, who has proven to be the strongest in her category. The strong color bearer of the Breganze Millenium team, fresh from the unfortunate “World Championship” in Zurich (Switzerland), has relegated to the remaining steps of the podium the other two blues of the iridescent challenge Eleonora La Bella (Bft Burzoni – Vo2 Team Pink) and Silvia Milesi (Biesse – Carrera). At the beautiful Friulian demonstration, perfectly organized by the A.S.D. U.C. Sandanielesi, 120 athletes (65 elite and 55 juniors) took part, who fought for 106.9 kilometers, spread along the roads of a 18,600-meter-long circuit, repeated six times, characterized by the GPM of Castello d’Arcano, with points of 14%, and the final climb towards the finish line of San Daniele del Friuli. 1100 meters of total altitude difference.

The first part of the race was characterized by the beautiful action of Giulia Giuliani (A.S.D. K2 Women Team), pursued for about forty seconds by a quartet formed by Angela Oro (BePink – Bongioanni), Sofia Arici (Isolmant – Premac – Vittoria), Noemi Lucrezia Eremita (Team Mendelspeck Ge-Man) and Gaia Segato (Top Girls – Fassa Bortolo). All the attackers were taken back at the end of the fourth round. At the penultimate pass on the ascent of the finish line, the forcing imposed by the athletes of the BePink – Bongioanni team skimmed the group, already reduced to about twenty units, and allowed Monica Trinca Colonel to launch the decisive attack.
